new car

Hi there and a merry xmas to you all,

I am thinking of buying a new car in March, and one of the accessories is a detachable tow bar. This come with a 7pin (12n) 7 pin (12s) or 12 pin attachmnet.

Can somebody explain the difference to me.

I will want to tow and keep the fridge running at the sametime

Thanks

Anyone

if your caravan has the new type 13 pin plug on, then it makes sense to fit the 13 pin socket.

ensure if you do that it comes wired with all the functions, fridge, charger, rear fog.

if your van has the 12n, 12s you may what to fit the two sockets to the car? and at a later date change to the 123pin if you update your van.

the 12n supplies you road lights, the 12s the charging, fridge, rear fog functions, again make sure you get all the functions.

John,

I agree with Ray, but if you intend getting a new van in the near future then the cheapest option is to get the 13 pin fitted now and use an adaptor to the existing 12n/12s on the current van. These are about

John, as highlighted in previous posts make sure you get the fridge connection wired in on your 13 pin, this missing is a common problem.

when we changed this year we had the 13 pin put on and bought an adaptor as we will probably change the van before the car so it'll then not need an adaptor.
