Do any of the posting re the new CRV concern an auto ?

I like the look of it but not clear whether auto is available.

The new Nissan X trail is going to have a diesel auto; my local dealer says he has a long list of enquiries, just the car he has been waiting for etc etc, but then he would, woldn't he ?

Hello Ray,

Auto is only available on the petrol model CRV - though I think there is talk of on being available on the diesel in 2008. Only heard this via a Honda dealer though - so don't hold your breath!!

There was no difference in the TSA lamp on the dash when connected to the caravan electrics, I read the hand book and it says that the TSA warning should only come on if activated while towing or the system develops a fault, spoke to my Honda dealer, and nothing needs to be switched on by them when a tow bar is fitted.

My dealer said also that a auto version of the diesel was planned early 2008, but they said nothing was concrete yet, but they thought they could sell loads.

sir, having bought the new crv in april(my last car c max), with us travelling up to yorkshire via malton, the car was not fully run in 650 miles on the clock in june, i struggled up the hills (caravan abbey 460 new) granted the wind was blowing, i thought oh oh made a mistake in swapping my c max, but now i have done over 2500 miles what a car for pulling, i was going up the hills in 5th/6th gear and returning about 28 to gallon, we have had 53 mpg without the van, but many times i forgot the van was hitched up, the car flowed well, as for the part time 4x4 it works well, the site we were on was very wet and i had to reverse and you could feel it kicking in. we have been up yorkshir twice, first time for 10 days rained for 8, then 2 weeks ago went up agai for 10 days rained for 9. as for the new crv i love it. regards david
Hi David

Did you notice a difference in the towing on your way back from your first trip whilst towing? We will take delivery of our diesel CRV on Wednesday and plan a short trip to Leek CCC (tried the Leek CC when we got our first caravan in 2004 and it was excellent) to try out our new caravan and then a slightly longer one to Shrewsbury for the folk festival at the bank holiday. I doubt whether we will do many miles in the new car before our second trip. We have just come back from the Pyrenees via St Malo so have done our longest tow for this year. It was a bit worrying to hear of your first experience.
