New Towcar

I am thinking of changing my trusty Fourtrack for something a bit newer. I cannot afford a new vehicle so am open to suggestions as to best value for money up to approx £12000 from a dealer. I would prefer a desiel and also would like to stick to a 4x4 if possible. I will be towing a Bailey Ranger 500/5 with max loaded weight of 1400kg. I have thought of a Jaguar X type deisel but I think they may be outside my budget. Any suggestions?

Depends how 4x4 you want your 4x4 to be.

If a competent 'soft-roader' is any use, I would recommend the x-trail. At

Try for a Suzuki Grand Vitara, Colin. Price wise, they are hard to beat and it should be capable of towing your 1400kg van too.
