oil coolers for mondeo

Iv been told i might need a oil cooler by my ford dealer for my mondeo 2lt petrol auto estate. Is there anyone who has had one fitted that can tell me how huch i could expect to pay at a main dealer.

Why do manufacturers state a max to weight limit on auto gear boxs if it cant be acheived without a modification? Surley it false advertising.
