Hi Paul, It all depends on which route you will be taking and how many hours/ miles you want to cover before stopping. And cou,ld posibly norrow it down a bit.
If your going acros France then there are a lot of good sites around Troyes9 , If your going North and through Belgium, less toll roads, then Colmar and Strasbourge are good areas, lots of municiple sites both ways.

Just North of Troyes is Arcis sur Aube, just off the A24 about 10 minute in the center of the town. Camping de l'ile Cherileu. Havent been there for two years but it was nice.

In Epernay, there is a nice Municiple, http://www.epernay.fr/hotel-restaurant/camping-municiple
Hope this helps, but there are plenty of sites around that area.

I agree with you Buffers, My sat Nav always wants to take me through from France into Germany and back into France so as I get towards Strasborge, I set Sat nav for Colmar, totally avoids the center.

If yoou can cope with the Troyes area there is a really excellent site at Eaux Puisseaux just south west of Troyes on the road towards Auxerre. Easy to find and quiet with big pitches that you may not have to unhitch for an overnight
