OVERNIGHT STOP - M6

Travelling from Scotland to Burnham on Sea in July and am looking for an overnight stop around Killington Lake / Charnock Richard (are these service stations ok for an overnight stop - have two little girls)Advice would be really appreciated. Thanks.

Hi we travel down the M6 with caravan in tow a lot and have used the services often. Killington lake is good lots of room to park esp on the left as u enter.

further down gets a bit busy as the Lorries tend to park in our spaces as they are nearer to the services.

Most services are ok but remember to bring ur ear plugs cause if a refridgerated lorry parks next to u its very loud

There is a good site called "The Royal Umpire" 5 mins drive from the Charnock Richard service station which we use when travelling south from Scotland. There are 2 good pub / restaurants directly next to the camp site which cater for kids.

there is a good caravan club site, Low Park Wood off J36:-

leave M6 at J36 onto A590Dual c`way s`p south lakes in 3.25 mls take slip road for Milnthorpe & Barrow, at roundabout follow intnl signs for caravan site & Sedgwick in 150yds turn L into lane,that runs parrallel to the river Kent at the junction fork right site ent on the left aprox 800yds
