Perhaps the wrong forum, but the Paris Ring Road is not like the M25. More like the North Circular without the delays and with entry and exit points often very close together. So there is much high speed lane swapping often without much signalling. The worst part is trying to join with a RHD car and caravan and hence not wonderful nearside vision. On a wet night this can be a complete nightmare.

If you can hold your nerve and keep your speed up it is not too bad, but if low on power I would avoid, particularly at rush hours.

I once encountered the paris periphique at a peak time. it was a sat afternoon on the day that the paris air show was being held. I was in the lead and my friend was to follow. the first thing you notice is the speed that the traffic is doing and if you stop in the RH lane you will taken off the first exit tou come to. always keep in the second lane and have the correct exit firmly noted for if you make a mistake you will be off at the wrong exit and have to virually to a small circle to get back on again. this happenned to us but with it happening to 2 rigs it was more hair raising. Eventually we came to the correct exit and off the periphique. at the next area of rest we pulled in and my mate got out of his car came to me and shook my hand and said that was the best piece of driving he had ever seen . I said to him that I thought it was worse for the person following

Hi Dave, The route you describe is no worse than the M25, gats a bit slow at peak times but otherwise nothing to worry about.George.
