OK, following the debate yesterday I think it would help if people would say yes or no to pictures in the forum. Please do not turn this thread into a debate as I would like to be able to mail the mod and give a good idea of what members think. If you wish to discuss it, please go to another thread.

In fact, can I ask the mod to delete any post that are not a simple answer.

I will post my vote later

Well I said I would vote later and I am

No
That was a little predictable Steve.

"Sand" has been Caravanning since he was a few weeks old, Pictured here in our old Bessacarr!

Back on track with what Caravanning is about surely.

Votes here are a little predictable and I guess that is why you posted the thread ;-)

Enjoy your power trip ;-)

Sorry to break your no debate rule, that is why I posted in comments!

Power trip?

odd reply, I just wanted to know what people think, I have no influence of the board that will make a difference but if enough people say the do or do not want pictures then maybe the powers that be will listen. If they take yesterday as an example the it will be disabled without question.

The forum I do mod on, has full picture and all the trimmings, it is used properly with abuse non existant, so I see no harm in pictures. To me, I like the simpleness of this forum thats why I voted no. I hope to get people who do not normally get involved to post in this thread, that way it will not be so predictable and a fair opinion of the forum can be measured.

Thanks for keeping this in the comments

Perhaps this is a poor compromise but I think it would be better to just include hyperlinks in replies and open them, if interested. These links could be used to access the same pictures as posted in our forum (they have to be on the internet anyway) but they would not clutter it up as much. You'd then only see the pictures that you want to have a look at and be spared the rest. It would also save a lot of space.

So, my vote is a clear Nes and Yo.

OK, if I have to commit myself to one or the other, it would be a YES.

I will try to modify the form later so that if you wish to link to another page or image it will be an option. Will have to wait till I get back from hospital

A most emphatic NO.

I use a classic car forum where people post photos (in fact part of your log-on can be a picture) and that is all people post- pictures of their cars or parts they want identifying or problem areas they want to discuss. From what I can make of the last few days offerings the opportunity to post pictures was abused almost immediately, in fact were there any pics of caravans?.

Yet another possible asset to the site that has been spoilt by the immature few

No -

Not from any prudish standpoint - I TOTALLY agree with Martyn above who has seen exactly the same problem on other Forums as I tried to explain. I rarely use those now because who wants to trawl through a load of irrelevant photos.

The beauty and utility of this Forum is its simplicity.

I would also suggest again that a "Gallery" be set up along the lines that Lol suggested. This would be far simpler for the Moddy's to police.

I'd agree to a gallery.
