Plymouth Sound CC Site

Richard

we stayed for a couple of nights last year in the summer.

From what I remember, you go through the outskirts of Plymouth in a residential area, then down a quite narrow, almost single-track road to get there, but it was just about worth it.

The site was quiet, probably as there's no facilities except water and electric. I think it was all grass and it was quite steeply sloping, although folks had awnings up.

Lovely view across The Sound and nice walsks nearby.

Hope this helps.

Regards

Ken

If you get up before 8-15 on a Monday Morning, you get a good view of the ships doing FOST leaving for exercises. I just love Plymouth Sound.

Hi Frank

'FOST' do you not mean BOST 'Basic operational sea training'.

Fost is the department that oversees the training 'Flag Officer Sea Training'.

Hi Paul

FOST moved to Plymouth from Portland, all work ups are now done from Guzz.

Hi Guys

I think the simpler description is OST.

As you probaly know there are various types of work up depending on where the ship is next deployed or where the ship comes from.

The second best day to see all the ships is on a Thursday before 0815 before the ships go to sea for the Thursday war.

Cheers for now
