Poor Bailey waste pipe installation

I managed to ruin a good weekend away yesterday morning by emptying a full bowl of dirty greasy washing up water into my kitchen cupboard.

Why did this happen I hear you say? The answer is because Bailey use push fit waste pipe connections & no pipe clamps or other supports - so the push fits come apart over time. If you own a series 7 Pageant I recommend you check your waste pipes & think about adding extra support - or go around all the joints with plumbers plastic pipe cement.

Hi Glen

Its not just bailey, I have a sterling europa 650, my daughter came into the van as i was finishing washing up to say that steamy water was comming out of the caravan either side of the wheels. On closer examination under the sink is a draw. a kitchen utensil had got cought in the back and as I had pushed the draw back in it hit the push together pipe and it came apart

The water then flooded the cupboard and kept going to the lowest point through im guessing the joint between floor and wall and out the bottom of the van.

now taped up the connection with duck tape for peice of mind and no longer put items in the draw.

surely must be a simple lock together joint out there which could be fitted as standard.

I was having a conversation with a caravan buddy and he was telling me of the problems he had with his van from new. Quite a list, but we both came to, and agreed that caravans are not designed by caravanners, and that is why we see problems like this all the time.
