Annie,
I would measure your new van between the windows before you decide

as the Ventura Cadet awning is only 2mts x 2.6mts.
Otherwise it might end up going over a window

When we get another new one I would like one of these Modus 2mtr Wide Porch Awning, you can then add on if you wish to make it larger & then decide how much to take when you go away

Hi Annie. Love your avatar. Haven't had that particular awning but we used to have a Ventura awning for our motorhome about 6 years ago. It was excellent quality and can recommend the brand. The same company make ventura as make Isabella awnings.

Be wary of awnings or porches with alloy poles - they don't take bad weather very well, specifically windy weather. The problem is that alloy bends, won't "spring" back and can't be straightened.
Choose from cheap but heavy steel or light but expensive fibre.

We had a Ventura Cadet - with fibre poles - which was a great little awning, just big enough for two, sturdy, and kept out the draughts. It even coped with the slope at Hook House Farm at Robin Hood's Bay where the back of the van was touching the slope - and it missed both the windows (see Photo)

Measure the van you want to buy and if there is two metres between any two windows, and the awning goes over the door area then you'll have no problems.

We had a Cadet with XL poles just like the one in your pic but as you can see from my van pic it wouldn't clear the side window on the California
We had an extra door made as seen in this pic as the Cadet didn't have one adjacent to the van door as does the larger Ventura and Isabella Magnum
Something to bear in mind

Here is a pic of our previous caravan the California showing the 3 m long Omnistor 2000
You can see where the window and lockers are
We bought an Isabella Magnum and that was just the right size to miss the under bed locker door with it inside the awning and front winow at each side
We had it slightly further back than the Omnistor
They do a Ventura the same size as the Magnum
Enjoy the California we loved ours
Hope that helps

Hi Annie,
We were looking for a porch awning last autumn to fit our Coachman Pastiche 460/2. It was to be used mainly for autumn/winter/spring caravanning and, since we tend to move on every four days or so, we wanted one that is quick and easy to put up and take down. After reviewing all the possiblities that were displayed at hte NEC show last October, we bought a Bradcot Portico Plus. It has fitted the bill very well. It appears really sturdy and the 'easy system' aluminium frame makes it quick and simple to adjust the lengths of all the frame members. The instructions leave a lot to be desired, but once we had sorted it, it was fine. Happy to reccomend it. We paid #419 at the show.
Cheers
Paul

At the Manchester show we were rather taken with an Isabella explorer Xlarge. It is a lightweight awning, with a rounded front face and roof, but still Isabella quality. Didn't buy it as not sure how much I would use it (tend to use the full awning as foster son sleeps in it), but did like it.
