Porta Potti help

I’ve been gifted a Porta Potti 165. The blade won’t close and seems to flapping around inside the waste tank. I can’t work out how to fix it. Any ideas
I’ve added a photo (the outside is just mud, not sure about the inside But can’t be bothered to clean it if it’s no good.

My recollection is that the front handle was pulled and pushed to open/close the sealing blade - usually black - that therefore slid from front to back. You might be able to see more if you rotate the spout 90+ degrees where the bayonet fitting aligns and can be removed.
