Just seen Paws posting about bedding and he has 259 posting and 52 thank you's. =4.8 per posting.
Lady Mel, 2985 and 143 TY's =20.87.
Prof JohnL. 9106, and 342, =26.6
My own, 1421 and 117 = 12.1

OK I am bored tonight but work your own out and lets see who has had the most thank you's.

Thats true but I asked for Posting versus thank you's = xyz an easier calculation. ☺

Rember the old days of exams when you wrote at the top of the paper . RTFQ.

Not sure I am using the same method as Hutch, but you get one thank you for every 35.77 postings.

Mel, you got it for Martins, 1824 postings and 51 thank you's = 35.764705.

I suppose we could call this a PT No. The lower the number, the more your answers have ben appreciated.
Prof if we done it your way round but multiplied the answer by 100 then we would get the percentage.
Ie. Martins, Pt no. 1824÷51 = 35.8
But 51÷ 1824= 0.003 ×100 = 3.1%

The newer members are forgetting that the thank you posting button is a recent addition to the forum that was only introduced with the last forum revamp.............I think that was about 2 years ago.
The older members total posting number is from way back when the forum first started ........which must be getting on for 10 years now........that is how Dusty and the Prof have 8-9 thousand postings.
 
I've submitted 8579 posts not counting this one and I've received 236 'thank you's ' which is about 2.75% I think (although maths is not my strongest subject).
It's often been said that moddying is a thankless task :lol:
 
Good job there isn't a "&#%$¥" button. Then the scores would be different. You poor mods would be in the lead.

Can't assume that Hutch. I've not got a good score but that's probably because I don't take things seriously enough.

No, you missed the point above. Longer poster will have lower scores because the button has not been there long compared to the time they have been posting and therefore they will have made literally thousands of posts without the button being available.
 
No, WC, got the point, thats why I am saying, the longest posters, would have probably recieved the most thank yous had they been operating from the start of the Forum.
So no point in continuing. Wish I was out in the Caravan, all stripped out waiting for Coachman recall.
 
Don't worry Hutch we are putting it all down to the stress, trauma and anxiety caused by the impending major surgery on the van. There there.

hi Hutch, if your ever that bored try looking at some of the forums statistics.
the most prolific forum posters top 3 positions [two of whom have not made a post for years] are Lord Brakewind [remember him] the Prof, and are old friend Lutz.

the most thank you's are topped by the Prof but our mods come in at position 4 and 5 [who said they were unpopular]

the most subscribed topic on the forum is the Woosie Club, but the second is the Overweight Caravanners thread. and that started 8 years ago. [last post 6 years ago].

the most members online at once was 122, but that does not count the members who never log out.

there are 33106 members of the forum, but 7% have never made a single post.

that is a far as I got without falling asleep. but there must be some gems to dig out if you have the patience.
 
Thanks Colin, done that lot at about 19:30, when the wife was watching Corrie. Tried finding, when the "Thqnk You's started but couldn't find that.
Even got my French up by another 2 % on Duo- lingo . Chased the dog around garden, for barking.
Went six weeks on the wagon once at work in Nigeria and the lads at work even had a whip round in the last wek to buy me drinks because I was way to happy at 6 am in the morning.

Well think I will get wrapped up and sit outside while the dogs have their evening constitutional, and watch the Sh 😛 shooting Stars. 😛

Cloudy here in the West Mids but the international space station is currently in the northern hemisphere and can be easily seen with the naked eye crossing from the west. According to my email alert the ISS appeared over the West Midlands at: ' 7:44 PM, Visible: 3 min, Max Height: 72°, Appears: 28° above WSW, Disappears: 23° above E '
On the subject of forum statistics, none of the post counts are strictly accurate because I'm not sure that posts on the first HTML version of the forum are included. I discovered how to enter the system to edit or to remove forum content and there was never any post count back then, the webmaster had retired and no one from Haymarket at that time knew for sure how the old system worked. I used to spend a lot of time indoors back in those days. 😛inch:
If I remember correctly a nominal average post count based on length of time as a forum member was introduced for the second forum upgrade when statistics started to be gathered.
I had the impression that until that time, right up until Nigel Donnelly who had edited What Computer magazine and who absolutely understood computers and marketing took over the reins and pushed through the long promised upgrade, it hadn't fully dawned on Haymarket how important digital marketing through electronic information gathering was to become, or if they did understand there was no one who could put it all into practice until ND was appointed.
.This current version is the third or fourth major upgrade, depending on what is classed as 'major', but of course Lizzie the digital editor is always working in the background on tweaks to keep the forum running smoothly.
