PowrTouch mover not engaging using remote

Hi All,
I've recently bought a caravan, after not having one for about 15 years.
It has a PowrTouch mover fitted and I am having trouble getting it to engage using the remote control.

I sent PowrTouch an email, but I've had a notification back that the email has been deleted without being read, charming.

I thought I'd post on this forum to see if the good people here would be able to help!

Here is the email, it covers everything I think. It's a 2002 caravan and the mover is not new, but looks cleanish, probably not as old as the van.
I have downloaded the instruction manual and fault finder guide.
If you need further info, just shout out. I think it is an evolution single axle mover, going by the box and the various instructions I've found.

Hi,

I've just bought a second hand caravan with a powrtouch mover fitted.

I have two problems.

I follow the instructions to actuate the rollers, press button E and hold, then press button B and release both, but nothing happens with the rollers. I hear a click from the box and both the red and green lights are both on. The red led by button B also flashes.

I can manually move the rollers with my lever, and when this is done, the remote control will control the caravan and it moves in all directions fine. APART from when pressing button B I'd expect the van to move forward but it goes backwards.

Now, this has made me think, would I need to press and hold button E and then press button H and release, to engage the rollers? I've not tried this in case it makes matter worse.

After moving the van I then tried to disengage the rollers but I had the same result as trying to engage them, as in nothing happened and the two lights on the box were on solid and the red led by button H flashed.

I'm not sure how to find the serial number to assist you with age and model of mover. If you need to know, if you could tell me how to find it I'll sort that.

Looking at the online instructions, it says if the mover is fitted in front of the wheels to wire it one way and if they are fitted behind to fit them the other way round and to refer to illustration 6A1, but none of the diagrams are labelled 6A1, so I'm not sure what wires I should be looking at. My thinking is, reversing these wires would make the mover move forwards when pressing button B. I may be wrong! If I am correct, could you point me to diagram 6A1. My mover is fitted to the front of the wheel.

I can't find an error where both red and green lights are on continuously, only flashing.
The battery is a 90Ah one, but is relatively new and holding a good charge, and has moved the caravan around fine.

Looking online I see that some people have said their movers become much easier to engage after being lubricated, but I can't see a portion in the instructions as to how to do this, I can only find a portion saying coat with wax oil to prolong it's life and then cleaning instructions, maybe you could let me know how to lubricate the mover.

Thank you in advance,

Graham

It’s probably something very simple. But not seeing it makes it harder. I doubt there is any mis wiring at this stage. Have you checked ALL connections especially those to the engaging motors?

I have had the need of help before and found a telephone call to a human being at Powrtouch solved my issue rapidly. Give them a call

Cheers Dustydog,
I have checked all connections in the van, but not got underneath to see if there are any at the mover side that are open.
I have the van being serviced in a couple of weeks now, so if I have no joy he may well be able to help.

I'll try calling them in the meantime though.

If you have the model with a lever to actuate onto tyres,it will not actuate the roller onto tyres using a remote. The auto engage is a different model and also a different remote control.

Weird, going by the instruction manual the remote I have is for actuating the rollers and the box has the extra bit for remote actuation

If you can engage rollers onto tyres with the lever wrench then that remote control is is also for the manual model. No way will that put the rollers onto the tyres. The top window with the arrows is for adjusting the speed the caravan moves,
