Proof of Damage

Just wondering how many people take pictures of their car and caravan before boarding the ferry. Why you may ask????

Because if your car or caravan is scratched or dented etc when you get off the ferry, you try and prove that it was done on the ferry. Whereas if you take photos you can prove that there were no scratches before you board so the damage must have been done on board, then you have a claim with the ferry operator.

Whether you've taken pictures or not, in most cases it's going to be difficult to prove that the ferry operator is to blame. If car or caravan is scratched, it's more likely to have been another passenger that did it while passing by.

From what I remember of ferry companies when I was Trucking, you would be hitting your head against the proverbial brick wall. I have a friend who was on the "Herald" when it fell over coming out of Zeebrugge, he still has not received any compo for the loss of his camper van and all the trauma that episode caused!!!!!
