Re Damaged Worktop

Thanks for all your suggestions, unfortunately the damage is on the edge of the worktop about an inch from the front and central on a 3 inch strip running down the side of the sink so I can't really put a tile in (sorry about the old measurements!)

Thanks Again

Bill

I have been trying to get some Formica/laminate for a job I want to do but with no luck.

I don't know which part of the country you live in but there is a good DIY shop in Redditch that had some sheets of greyish patterned laminate about 2ft by 3ft that would have looked nice in a caravan.

The only other way I can suggest is to replace the top with laminate covered chipboard such as contiplas.

B&Q have quite a range including maple,limed oak,beech etc

Bill/John, why don't you look up a local worktop manufacturer for both repair or supply, we have one in Nottingham that has thousands of off-cuts which he sells at very reasonable prices. The only problem I have had is sorting though the piles there are that many! Oh and take a pair of stout gloves...the cut edges are like razors!!

Bill,

Some of our Eriba friends made smaller or just different sized dinette tables and as part of these projects wanted to get matching worktop laminate.

We found that if you go to the Formica web site (www.formica.co.uk) you can view the 1000 or so patterns they have in production, and then get the list of local suppliers. The usual home DIY superstores are not in the list.

Worked fine for us.

Regards, Robert

Thanks Gary and Rob

I am waiting to see if the salesman for the new van can come up with a table top from a Pageant which is the same laminate as the Senator(he is going to Bailey).

I looked on the Formica website and they didn't have a pattern the same out of all the many.

I may have to make a visit to Nottingham if all else fails but the new van isn't due until December
