Hi Nigel
Vinyl type stickers would be great and very popular, the forum members that I met at the rally mentioned stickers as a means of identifying each other.
I'd suggest a copy of the blue /yellow Practical Caravan logo from the top of the forum page with the white 'Britains best-selling caravan magazine' strapline plus an additional line with the simple url for the website in slightly bigger strapline letters.
The logo is well known and instantly recognisable and as long as the sticker isn't too big ( a common mistake with forum stickers which renders them unuseable) it would promote both the magazine and the website with the forum.

Hi Kev, the shot with the football was a bit of a reflex action but it shows that the old magic hasn't completely disappeared

It was great to meet you and your family, I hope that your daughters arm gets better soon and that the pup doesn't chew anything up in your posh new caravan

You can call me anything you like as long as it isn't late for my dinner

Think Parksy's idea of the sticker layout is spot on.
One other thing I think would need to be decided would be, should it stick inside or outside, it would obviously last longer on the inside but one problem is with my van it has tinted windows and would not be as visible as others,so if it was stuck on the outside you could have the choice of weather it was stuck on the window, front locker or my personal choice would be on the side of the
A Frame (also this would mean others dont have to look in your window, as some people may feel uncomfortable with this)
Food for thought what do others think? or am I just being too fussy.

Guys think the idea of the stickers would be great. Do have one that I made myself in the front window of our van but it’s just a laminated picture of a caravan with our names on it!!
We were also at Stowford this year and as always enjoyed...Many thanks to all the staff of PC and MC for your tireless work.

Had one slight grumble and that was that some people appear not to understand pitch etiquette!! Now far from me for being a grumpy old woman (with a Surname of Moody what do you expect!!), but when we put the car close to the van to avoid people from walking between them and give ourselves a little privacy and they still walk between (turning sideways to get by) or between the awning that we where erecting and the car, one does ask the question? These were adults not children

But hey the sun shone we all had fun... and to trump a good weekend my grandson won the penalty shoot out!!! Amazing prizes thank you guys.

Nigel and team keep up the good work.

Looking forward to see where next year’s rally may be??

This is why windbreaks can come in handy

Hey Parksy you saw the size of my pitch, I would had to buy every windbreak in North Devon,
smiley-laughing.gif

Think it was made worst as our pitch was so close to the amenities block, but it did get less and less, think it was something to do with the other half shouting out THIS IS PITCH NUMBER 392 every time some one walked past!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
To be honest it doesnt really bother me but I dont tend to cut across others, (so perhaps they should stay of mine.)

I was very tempted to buy a 10 pole windbreak from a shop in Coombe Martin Kev, that would have at least made one or two of them detour toward the edges

I wouldn't deliberately cut across a persons pitch either and certainly never between the towcar and the caravan or the awning under any circumstances.
We were fortunate on this rally to be at the edge of our field but I still had to park the car very close to the hedge at the back of the pitch to prevent various children who were playing at hide and seek from running round and round our caravan while their oblivious parents relaxed in the sunshine.

........…..I had to move pitch due to large trees blocking the satellite TV signal. (I do not have a terrestrial system).

Stowford staff were reluctant at first saying there were no free pitches.
They assumed I wanted to be near an amenity block but were fine when I suggested the outer rally field where there was a lower density of caravans and great views.
There are EHUs, fresh water taps and rubbish and Toilet disposal points available but quite a walk to any other facilities.
I certainly enjoyed the rally this year more than last for being in this field.

………I did not feel the urge to buy any windbreaks

Sounds like you were slumming it with the Practical Caravan team - we always get put in the 'cheap seats' but we love it out there - great views and acres of space. 20 min round trip to the loo is a bit of bind though...

Nigel.
Are you familiar with the term "own san ess"?

We had a great pitch, near to toilet/shower block, only downside was having to 'prune' the overhanging trees so that the back panel and roof were not clobberized when reversing onto the pitch.
Even won a raffle prize.

Planning next year yet?

Considering that Nigel has very recently undergone a hip operation I thought that he was doing very well Kev.
He'd win a race with me anyday

(dunno about a drinking race though
