Hopefully all of us will be honouring Remembrance Day. Were you aware that the two minute originated in Cape Town, South Africa. I was not aware of this until very recently and I was born in Cape Town. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Two-minute_silence

Thank you Buckman, I and I expect many thousands were unaware of that interesting fact. Every day is a schoolday and if it wasn't for all those fallen souls we might not have had any school days at all.
We WILL remember, and NOT forget, them.

One of my granddaughters is a flag bearer through Guides. We are currently watching her on a live YouTube broadcast from their local church remembrance day service.

Malta also paid tribute to the fallen on Remembrance Day, a timely reminder of my own dads war service during this time.

My grandfather was a Mounted Trooper in WW1 serving in South West African and then on the Western Front. My Dad served in WW2 in North Africa, Italy and France.
