Renault Koleos

I spent yesterday at the Royal Norfolk Show and saw several Renault Koleos on the car dealers stands.

Not able to have a test drive but first impressions are very good. It is availble in a switchable 4 X 4 version and as a 2 wheel drive version.

Not surprisingly it shares the same platform as the companys other successful tug the Nissan X Trail.

Anybody got any comments on it ?

I wanted one when I saw the prototypeaqbout 18 months ago. Not sure about it being based on the X Trail....Qashqai yes but not the X Trail IIRC. The Qashqai will pull about 1400Kg which is a bit better than the 1300Kg of our RX4 which the Qashqai is based on. The RX4 has been one of my favourite cars even if it is not very quick or a real 4X4. It does all I need and all I would want is a bit more power than I now have after we fitted a chip to the RX4. 160-170BHP and a similar increase in torque would be great. The new 6 speed box will be good for economy as 5th feels a bit low in the RX4 but generally all the RX 4 needs is an update and if the Koleos ticks the boxes I would not hesitate to buy one.
