Rome/Venice

Hi all.

Has anyone been to Rome and Venice.... I know your going to say yes, but we won't be going in the van..... time against us... and with two trips already we will only have about 5 days in total...

I want to see the the stuff in Rome St Peters sq, Coliseum and mihael's ceiling.... but would like to go either venice or somewhere else if we have time.......

Have never been to Itlay before will be flying out, so need help there too!!! LOL and hotels........
Won't be going until Beginning of october-ish.
Which is the best way of how to see Rome and get to form places? and where to eat??

thanks

We have been to both, but would not try to see both in the same trip. There is far too much to see.
Find a hotel, central for all the historical bits, get a road map and you can walk to all the main touristy bits. It is that easy. You must get there early to visit the Cisterne Chapel, so perhaps book a taxi through the hotel, and get a price before getting in.
You always have an an excuse for another trip to see Venice.
