Roof Boxes

I tow a Compas Omega 524 with an Isuzu Trooper 5 dr.

I am thinking of fitting a roof box. Will this affect the stability of the tow or cause any other problems.

So long as the weight of the laden roof box doesn't make the car exceed its GVW and/or max. permissible front and rear axle loads as well as the max. permissible roof load specified by the manufacturer, there's no reason not to use a roof box. In the case of a 5dr Trooper I'd be very surprised if you'd run into a problem unless you intend to smuggle a roof box full of gold bullion.

Hi, I have a 3.1 5 door trooper with a large roof box. I find it helps with towing of my sprite caravan by helping the airflow over the caravan. Only 1 problem !! you have to use a step ladder to load and unload the box. Roy

I have towed with a 3.1 LWB trooper for 5 years pulling single and twin axle caravans with roof box it made no affect to the stability at all , with 75kg load capacity you can store loads of gear to keep the caravan free from awnings & kit whilst on one night stops on tour
