Hello all,
I am new to this so please bear with me. I got a caravan for free, no paperwork included, I believe it’s a abbey piper 515 or a Warwick, 4berth. I am looking to refurbish this caravan completely from wheels to air vent. I was getting ready to put up a new curtain rail and my drill went through the board. The board is above the 3 main windows inthe front left corner. I dug out a bit of the rot but not fully. I was wondering if anyone has had the same problem or if there is any solution. I am not looking to do a quick fix.
Please leave any questions you may have or any solution, I will try to answer them as soon as possible.
Thank you
CJ

You need to strip back all the wall board and investigate where the water ingress is coming from.
Then you need to repair whatever is causing the issue, a seam, awning strip, hole etc.
Then all that rotten wood needs replacing and finally new wall board can go on.

I had an issue on my previous van with water ingress around the front windows. This was caused by tiny hairline cracks in the plastic front panel of the caravan where the window hinges were screwed in. A manufacturing fault but only discovered years after the warranty had expired
It didn't look anywhere near as bad as your photos and the wood frame was dried out as it had not gone rotten so only new wallboard required.
It still cost me £1500 to be repaired by a pro.

Good luck
