RV hire in USA

Thinking about a tour of "The West" USA by hiring a RV for a period of about 3 months.

Has anyone experience of this, do's and don'ts, idea of costs etc.? If so would much appreciate some data.

Ideally we should like to hire on East Coast - North Carolina or Georgia, as this will help the logistics.

Ray, I have no idea about the cost, but have just subscribed to an RV magazine. I could look in there to see if there is anything available, but it won't be until it gets delivered.
