saab 9-3 1.9TiD 150 Turbo

Its company car renewal time for me and I am considering the above Saab. Has anyone any experience of towing with this car? Another (slightly less attractive) alternative id the Mercedes B200 2.0 CDi.

Over to the forum ....

I can't remember where I've read it but I'm sure they make fantastic towcars, that 1.9 diesel in 150bhp form is allegedly a stonking engine

Hello Jim,

I towed with a 2004 2.2 TiD 120 Arc estate and an Abbey Challeger 540.

There was enough power with the 120bhp to keep the outfit moving along with the traffic. The 150bhp should be better still.

The stability was fine, providing the van was loaded sensibly with the noseweight checked to 75kg.

I have a 2007 Vectra with the same engine. It's a great tow car but I only have a small van so it should be. Bear in mind the DMF is a known issue and in mine it failed at about 42K miles, it was replaced under warranty but the dealer advised the clutch was also going which was not covered, though as the car was in bits I was 'only' charged for clutch parts and not labour.
