Hi

Had our van serviced last week, that may have nothing to do with my problem, put the van back into storage directly after the service.

Today the alrm system went off on its own, it would not re-set, it was disconnected for about 3 hours, re-connected, it then re-set but sounded weak, to be honest like a weak duck, anyone got any ideas, as to the reason???

Richard,

From past experience i would connect the mains lead,if possible, and switch your battery charger on and leave it for 24 hours. This worked for me and i discovered my caravan battery had died. The back up battery in the alarm could be almost flat.

If this fails i would ring Sargent direct. I have found them to be most helpfull.

Thanks Hamer

Alas cannot connect until Friday, but if as I suspect the 12 volt system was on most of the day while being serviced the battery would have been welldown, and as it went straight back into storage, did not have the time to take it home and charge the system up.

Will let you know after the weekend.
