If you haven't done so already I recommend looking at;
www.satelliteforcaravans.co.uk
Very informative site.

If you are taking your Sky+ box then my understanding is that to get full acces to all the + facilities then you need a double LNB.
I don't have one of the box kits but from what I've seen/read they seem to come with a receiver box,you wouldn't need that if you are taking your own. Also, agian only from what I've heard, the box kit only comes with a single LNB.
I take my own digi box with me (not Sky+, got to leave that at home) and bought a dish with folding arm and a tripod from one of the several ebay sellers who seem to specialise in this sort of thing. Think it was something like "gadgetshop" I got mine from. I got a 60cm dish with folding arm, LNB, sat finder, and 15m of cable and connections for well under £90 (was a couple of years back)
Might be worth having a look to see what's available and the prices.

Yes used it in France for the past three visits. The dish is bigger than 45cm though. In my first post I said it was 60cm, though there is something in the back of my mind which now makes me think it might only be 54cm. My memory really is getting bad!
On that website link I posted there is a guide to what size of dish is recommended for what area. The further south you go the bigger the dish required.

We have been down towards La Rochelle and have always got a picture with a Maplins suitcase kit and they sell a twin LNB for it for Sky plus.When I tried to use my Sky + to set up I found it froze when the signal went so I use the Maplin box to get a strong signal and when I'm happy with it connect up the Sky box.A signal finder might do but I have never had much success as unless you spend a lot of money you can pick up the wrong satellite.My Maplin box comes up with a picture so you know your OK.

It was about £59 for the single LNB,i think the twin LNB is about £30.mine is the same as the Lidl on,it is the plastic dish,39cms sounds right.It has always got a picture without any probs.The oneshown in the catalogue looks a bit of an upgrade to mine but is a £100 more or less,I have had mine for about 6 years.
This is the kind of thing before you upgrade

Really well,get radio 2 all the channels we normally get.I would set the channels up at home off your satellite,assuming you have one and and have a little practice and I,m sure you'll be fine.If you are near Northampton and you need any help ask mods for my email
