We have just gone seasonal. And yesterday we bought an Isabella Cirrus 400. It still needs putting up. We have a Bolon carpet for it, I know these are excellent. But we are looking for a bit more comfort underfoot. Some people on site have elaborate raised flooring. We are not going down that route.

One idea is to use interlocking foam tiles underneath, not sure how successful that would be, and I can’t find the big ones anywhere, just 2 foot square. That’s s a lot of tiles.

Amazon do budget breathable carpets, £29. But open to all suggestions.

I have two sets , each tile is 60 x 60 cm, ie 2x2 ft. One set came from Aldi years ago. Not seen any larger ones. Very comfy to walk on.
Did they take long to lay/ did they lie flat on gravel? Would a breathable carpet go on to alight?

Sorry for all the questions.

John,
We laid ours on top of the breathable ground sheet.
Laying is very simple but needs to be done on your hands and knees . Each tile interlocks with the others on all four sides . A pretty quick easy job but the ground must be fairly flat.
We used ours on hardstandings including gravel with no issues. I reiterate we always placed a breathable ground sheet before the tiles.

My thoughts about putting the carpet on top, is the carpet looks good, and the tile would protect the carpet from sharp stones.

Strangely, soon after I made the first post, Mel replied with a ling to Halfords who have bigger tile. But that post soon disappearsd.

ALDI had them in last week. They are about a metre by metre.

Here is a thought. We have a number of the interlocking tiles from when we had our Isabella. They are in our garage doing nothing and waiting for a new home if you want to take ownership.? They are blue in colour. I am not sure how many there are of them, but should be enough. If interested please let us know and I will drag them out to see how much area they cover.

Mea culpa. I thought the Halfords ones were bigger but when I double checked ( after posting) they weren’t; so I deleted it pdq 😂

The add is a bit misleading at first glance. The 120 x 180 is the size 6 will make.

That is exactly the link I had posted then I read it properly. I agree, misleading.
I did find roll flooring, don’t know if it is of any use?

BB the way you are going about buying things, will there be any room left for the two of you in the caravan?
OTT price wise. But probably fantastic.

Amazon do reasonable priced breathable carpet which may act as an underlay.

Beware that you may get damp underneath even if if it is breathable and after a while it may go mouldy even on hard standing. Talking from experience. No issue with foam pads with lino on top.

I see no reason why that wouldn’t work. The tiles are waterproof , unless the ground floods!
