Self-Build Caravan

Hello,

Just a tentative enquiry - a reader called the office today and asked if I knew of anyone who'd recently built their own caravan. His dad built several in the 1950s and he'd like to know if anyone has built one recently. He wants to build something small.

Any info, gratefully received

The Caravan Club Magazine featured a self-build a few years back, looked similar to an Elddis. Internal cabinet work was superb.

Teardrop trailers can be built from plans, there's various on the interweb.

I can vaguely remember some years back (not too far) an article about a self build that the builder called an Opus 1. It must have been in PC or Caravan Life 'cos that's the only 2 I've ever bought.

Would love to do one myself but unless i get the 6 numbers up it will always be just a dream.
