Site at Mirambeau - - Le Carrelet

I plan to use this site as an overnight early next year. The directions in the CC Book aree pretty vague - states it is near Sortie 37 of autoroute A10. Neither Michelin or Mappy make any sense of the post code.

As I shall be looking for it at night, would appreciate any advice on finding it and any comments as to the site itself -particularly if it is likely to be muddy.

There is another all-year site listed under Mirambeau but this seems to be further off the autoroute and again neither Michelin or Mappy make much sense of the postcode. Info on this one also appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Exit at J.37. After tollbooths continue to end of road. Now turn right, direction Mirambeau. At roundabout turn left into Mirambeau. Site is now clearly signposted.

Enjoy, the Charente Maritime is really charming and a good place to linger and enjoy your holiday. Perhaps I'm biased as I live (full time) close to Mirambeau.

Dave.

Should have said that Mirambeau and the campsite are both about one mile from the tollbooths.

Bonjour Dave, much obliged for your help. Nice place to live. We come through the area each year. Our usual night stop is Moulin de averne (?) at Pons, but it's a bit of a fiddle getting there and it can be pretty muddy in winter, so I thought I'd have a look at mirambeau for a change.

I'm familiar with the junction as if going to Pons from the south we usually come off at mirambeau and up the RN. Half way between Mirambeau and Pons is St Genis (?) where I usually stop for diesel. One year there was a fellow Brit running the service station - you by any chance ? Ray
