Try Riverside CP at Tiddington,as the name says it is on the side of the River Avon and at times they have a boat bus into Stratford which is only about a mile away,by road or walk by the river.The showers/toilets have underfloor heating.
In the village is a pub doing good food and nearby is Charlcote Park and Wellesbornes and its enormous weekend market
This one is maybe a bit too far, 36 minutes according to the AA route planner. It's called Harbury Fields, they have a website if you want to Google it.
We're booked on for a few nights in the summer whilst visiting friends in the area. Never been ourselves, but gets good reviews.
Harbury as was said is a long way from Stratford but is a very nice site now affiliated to the CC,the only issue we had when we went last year was that we had to be off our pitch early on the Sunday morning
Sorry to hear that,its unusual as I and others have often stayed a bit later,also as we put the awning up and then go for the grandchildren,he lets us in on Friday morning,its normally 12ish you are quite right it is a way but the roads are quite decent so it doesnt take too long,at least to the outskirts of Stratford
