Been looking at the above car, 2.0l diesel. Anyone got one or had one? Pro's and cons?
Haven't got one but it would be my choice if an SUV wasn't possible - my son has an Octavia Estate, 2.0 TDI which has now done 150,000 miles with no signs of trouble - and he's very hard on cars, killed his Vectra estate in about 100,000 miles.

A con is that the Superb is a bit long for parking - but that length becomes a big pro for space.

A friend of mine had a 2014, 4wd version, lovely car, towed a Coachman 560 ( 1546 kg.) with it. Lots of room, his big brag about it was it had an umbrella in the rear right door, like a Rolls Royce.

I had the 2014 AWD 2.0 DSG diesel. Great luggage room allied with good room for front and rear passengers, economical too, towed well as well. Plus it had a rechargeable torch so you can find your umbrella. Can’t go far wrong, I rate it above my Gen 3 Volvo XC70 AWD.

We had the saloon version 2 years ago as our first tow car. It was very nice apart from breaking down 3 times 🤣. This rather knocked our confidence in it, so we got rid.

One other good thing with our estate was that the bases of the rear seats can be lifted and hinged forward leaving a useful load or dogs carrying area without risk of damaging seat bases.

Our first second car was a Skoda Estelle 105. When we lived in Cumbria it was our preferred option and she did every Lakeland pass, albeit mostly in first gear. Great little car.

My friend had one, 2020 tdi model. Regularly got 60 mpg. Replaced it with the petrol version last year, no diesel. Gets 45 ish.
A no brainer. VW were on a real winner the tdi. Same running gear as the Audi A6.
A very large estate car.

The Superb is on a different platform to the Audi A6 and uses an extended version of the Golf platform - the A6 has the engine longitudinally, the correct way!

The company I work for has been having Skoda's for those wanting a company car for years, previously the Superb models but now the EV Enyaq. All have been incredibly reliable.
