solway holiday village

Hi All, Can anyone tell me wot this place is like we are thinking about going later in the year, any feedback would be apprecaited.

thanx in advance

Andrew.

Andrew,

If the Solway holiday village is situated north of Siloth then it used to be the Siloth lido, when I stayed there, it was an open air feild, very rough and soggy under foot, every thing was extra to the pitch charge, ie a daily charge for the swimming pool, In my opinion you would be better off staying at Stanwix Park which is to the south of siloth and as far as I know prices are all in.

good luck mate

Andrew,

Just been on their web site it is not in the same place as the old Lido, therefore I`ve probably missled you, but I couldnt find any where for touring caravans they only appear to do statics,

we stayed there about 3-4 yrs ago, it does take tourers, BUT, the drainage is terrible., it rained for a whole day and our van was in a lake about 100yds diameter, about 12 inchs deep, that was on the second day, after we payed for a week, we asked for 5 days refund and were refused, as they said they cannot control the weather, the site is in dire need of refurbishment, pay the extra and go to stanix, even in bad weather the drainage is good, hope this helps, Barney.

Hi Andrew,

Like the others I would go to Stanwix Park. Easy walk from site into town. Only extra you pay for as far as I am aware is the ten pin bowling.

Have a nice time wherever you end up.
