Hi,

I have booked a pitch at this site on the internet after failing to find a coastal site- all fully booked for July. We are travelling with our two children. Can anyone give opinion or review of site?

Many thanks.

I'm sure you'll be fine there - we had friends who went regularly for several years, and we've been on site to see them several times, but never actually stayed there. The site is quite shady, so good in July to get out of the hot sun, the pools are good, with a covered pool for dull days, the washblocks were fine (though we didn't use the showers as we were only day visitors). The bar and restaurant were good - and the owners and staff friendly. There was entertainment going on most evenings when we visited - and there was a good mini-club, which was one of the reasons they went back so often. It's not that far to have a day out on the beach - and nicely situated just outside the 'Thermal Village' of Les Fumades - which actually gets very busy, as thermal cures are popular with the French. There are some good restaurants around - try the one in the village nearby with a bird sanctuary (sorry can't remember what it's called).

It did have quite a lot of 'tour operator' pitches - Eurocamp, Keycamp, Canvas Holidays, etc - and if you're touring then access to some of the pitches with a caravan might be quite difficult as the 'avenues' through the site are quite narrow and winding.

Loads in the area to do and see - you're really between the Mediterranean and the Ardeche. Visit the market in Uzes - and the nearby Haribo museum, and do the Pont du Gard either early morning, or evening, when the light is spectactular, and less other visitors.
