Just a thought, shall we just pop this one back on the shelf for another 10 years and those that are still with us then can chat about how nothing has changed in the intervening period. πŸ˜—
plus ca change, plus le meme chose!!!!!!!!
Tres bien Monsieur Emmo. C'est triste les Enfant terrible. πŸ˜›

I'm on moreton in the marsh, arrived Thursday and was given a right brief on speeding and parking car the correct way because of fire hazard, to be honest you find it hard to speed on here everyone is paced in , CC&C or whatever it is called should a prper risk assessment of the site lay out.

Understand what you mean re C&CC escorting you to your pitch, but when solo you are on your own regarding speed limit. I'd be surprised if they haven't done a whole site risk assessment. What makes you think that they haven't?

It's just a congested site in my opinion like ithis weekend espicially when cars are parked across the front of the caravan to
leave a fire gap between each pitch, facilities are good but the site layout is not, another one scrubbed off my list of never going back.

If I remember correctly the site at Moreton in Marsh is a privately run site listed by the C&CC and used by District Associations as a Temporary Holiday Site.
This means that although a C&CC steward might be on site they have no jurisdiction over the non members who also use the site.
I fully understand the frustration of those who witness speeding on any site, but complaining on this forum achieves nothing.
Either gesture to the speed demons to slow down, as we invariably do on West Midlands da rallies, or take note of the vehicle registration number and have a word with the wardens or steward on site at the time.

We always look at sites on Google earth before booking. Cant find a C8CC one at Moreton in Marsh, there is a C&MH on the A44 definitely wouldn't go there.

According to the CC handbook moreton in the marsh is a club site, the point I,m making is the fact that they stress thepoint about speeding here is in my opinion is because the site when full is congested, sorry for expressing my opinion.

5 mph is about tickover speed on many cars so exceeding this even on a crowded site is possible and speeding becomes even more dangerous. I agree that on most of that site though most areas do not lend themselves to excessive speed but the wardens warning would suggest that they have had some trouble recently.

Been there a number of times with no problems. The dog walk is rubbish otherwise everything else fine. Can't say I saw any speedsters and Wardens were fine.
All cars can be controlled to maintain 5mph or less with relative ease. πŸ™‚

Remember you motorbike test where you had to crawl , feet off the ground, and stick with the examiner at his walking pace B)
If you can't achieve this then your vehicle needs attention or you need a driving lesson :woohoo:  πŸ˜—
