Spongy Floor

Our van is in storage in Spain. Just before we came home we noticed an area of floor near the door was slightly spongy. We assme this to be delamination. We will be spending a considerable amount of time in it over the winter before brining it home for service.

Is there anything we can do to lessen the deteriation? We thoutht maybe a jack under the affected area!

Thanks

John,

Placing a jack under the floor will do absolutely nothing to lessen any damage, if it is delamination.

The floor is made up of a sheet of plywood as a base, then a layer of polystyrene and topped with another sheet of plywood.

Delamination is where the upper surface of the polystyrene has been compressed, and causes a gap between the polystyrene and top sheet of plywood.
