SsangYong

I am looking at the SsangYong Rexton II 2.7D SX....But the quoted Max Power is 165PS/4000rpm.

I have not met with the PS unit in terms of power before as power is usuall quoted in BHP, so I cannot compare to other manufactures !!!!!Help Please

Thanks

As far as I am aware, you can take the PS figure to be the same as BHP.

There is a difference but it is quite small and I've found that it isn't worth the bother of recalculating unless you're really a perfectionist.

hello s/dodger ps is the german eqivalent to our bhp and it means perverder staker.ive had a bit of this debate before.and i have to admit their not everyones cup of tea in the looks department, but looks are only skin deep.what would be interesting is looking at the torque figures as this is what matters.

Thanks for your reply but what have you heard about the Fexton I would be very interested to know from you or anyone with any experience because we are going to Alcester to have a look at my nearest dealer (I live in Brum).

Seth

The torque quoted is 340N/M @ 2,400 rpm

How does that compare with others?

PS thanks to everyone who has replied so far

well an x5 is roughly 390nm bearing in mind its got a 300cc advantage.so its not bad.

Hi Dodger

Not heard much about the Rexton either way but the Muso (I think it was that) gave a friend of ours a terrible run of trouble and in the end it went back and the dealer let him have a Trooper that he kept for years, never let him down and was replaced by another Trooper that also gave trouble free service.

The specific problems with the Muso was the paint lacquer pealing off riquiring in the end a complete respray.

The interior trim was very flimsy and fell off within months which bearing in mind it was bought new this was poor.

There was also some gearbox and axle problems - mainly horrible graunching noises but this did not amount to anything - mainly because he insisted on the dealer taking it back (which fair play the did and sold him a Trooper as the were Isuzu dealers as well) before the problem got too bad.

The dealer dumped the SsangYong franchise after a year.

Thanks Clive

We have looked at a new Rexton today and decided against it. Mainly because it felt tacky inside although it had many "toys" fitted.

Another reason is that its price is not much less than the 3.2D Shogun Elegance because ther are discounted to get fid of current stock in readyness for the new facelifted models to appear in the spring.
