I don't know the site but I know the area. I did a coastal ecology corse there when I was at college. The beaches had loads of rock pools. A few oldie pubs etc.

I have spent 2 excellent holidays and I really rate the site slapton sands (shingle) is about 1/2 mile there is a footpath from the site, another footpath from the site takes you to stokenham excellent pub there. absolutly loads to do in the area our favourate places to visit are Dartmouth,Salcombe (especially using the ferry from Kingsbridge) Totnes plus loads of others. The last 6 miles from Kingsbridge to the site are challenging ! they do warn you about it in the CC handbook.
