Stirling Eccles 2004 rear window leak

Hey all,

Just looking for a bit of advice. I have recently picked up a Stirling Eccles sapphire 2004 and it’s great except one thing. The rear window leaks when it rains.

I am not 100% certain but it appears to be coming in through a notch in the top I have popped some links to images below:

For anyone in the know do you think this is just the seal needing replacing or something more untoward?

Thanks in advance

Unfortunately the pictures do not lend a great amount of clarity to what is where, however, it looks like you have Seitz windows as opposed to Polyplastic.

At the age of the van it is quite probable that the sealing mastic has failed, so it is a case of remove window and frame, clean any old mastic off both window and van, apply new mastic and refit.
Use a generous bead of mastic so that it squashes out as the frame is tightened back in, and tool off to give a smooth finish.
