swift charisma 540

We have been looking this weekend at the new swift charisma 540 (the one with the double dinette)can anyone give me thier thoughts on this van (good and bad) or alternatives that we should be looking at with the same floor plan.

we looked at the Amara but unfortunatly the weight for the 2010 model is too high if we had the 2009 it would be ok (caravans getting heavier every year again!!!)THis is the main reason why we have been forced to look at the Charisma

It's always a shame when their weights preclude people, of course once in one and having a really good look compared to the others you can see why they are heavier. of course when you tow with a 4x4 it's easy to recommend something unsuitable for those that don't want/normally need such a big tug. There's very little difference between the 09 and 10 though if you could find one left there would probably be a good deal to be had

hi martin, i cant recommend any other caravan because i own a wyoming. ive had a quick look and the other manu's with that layout are-

This has always been a good layout and is popular on the used market. Swifts are popular vans and are well built for the money. If you can run to it try looking at the dealer specials which all have the same specifacation but different names. They are Carisma based but are a cheaper and less weight than a Challenger.

Hi Martin

I looked at the swift charisma 540 for me and my family. I was put off by folding the bunk out at the back as i would need to do it for the kids and if my paren'ts came away with us which I found to much to do but liked the layout apart from this. We ended up with another charisma the 565 and this had fixed bunks and a table ideal for kids.

Good luck from one swift charisma to the other.
