Not got a Sprite major but a Musketeer and the rail takes standard awning beading. It just looks narrow when viewed from the outside as the awning rail visibly closes in but the slot that’s visible is sufficient for the awning material to come out as the beading is inserted and pulled through.

Oh silly me I misread the last question I'm not too sure what size it is but we get our awning up and around no bother , like Clive says it looks very narrow but there is 3 entrance slots , 2 at the rear and one at the front both will take a mixture of different size piping probably and still fit .

I have a canopy which I've had some years from a boat I had.
This has in effect 8mm dia awning piping along one edge that fed into a rail I had on the boat..

The Kampa website quotes caravan/motorhome awning bead strip as 6 mm diameter. Might be the boat version is larger diameter given the weather it may have to face.

8mm is big even for a boat... roller furling foresails which are hoisted in a groove in a tube installed over the forestay are only 5mm and you can have over a ton and a half of pressure in the sail when working...
