Swivel taps

Hi. We started caravaning this year and we have a 1999 swift challanger 530. The kitchen tap does not swivel, hence when we want to fold down the work top over the sink/drainer I have to scrabble about under the sink releasing the tap fixing coller to rotate out of the way, is this correct or am i missing a trick, is it possible to retro fit a swivel tap?. any comments welcome

It cannot be correct that you have to loosen the fixing collar to swivel the tap out of the way to lower the sink cover. Something must be jamming the tap to prevent it swivelling. Perhaps removing the whole tap from the sink unit will highlight the problem. If it still doesn't swivel, a new tap might be the answer.

Inside the column, there are two rubber 'o' rings which stop the water leaking out at the top and bottom of the swivel part. You'll need to dismantle the tap and use some silicone grease on the rubber rings.

A trickle of mineral oil [olive?] down the edge of the tap shank and persistent tries to "wiggle" it may get a spot of lubricant onto those 'o' rings mentioned above.
