We would prefer to buy second-hand after the first couple of years have depreciated from new prices, and would like good resale value at the end of our touring. We do start planning things well ahead, and we would not arrive until 2008/2009, so something new to 2 years old now may be suitable. Our total purchasing budget would probably be 30,000 to 40,000 Euro. Any advice would be appreciated. If the above criteria is too general, and there are dozens of suitable cars and caravans, could someone advise us of a some friendly, patient dealers with large selections, or a district with a lot of dealers.

It is too broad an ask, Mandeep. Without knowing your personal circumstances and desires, giving advice on what to buy is impossible. You have a lot of leg work ahead of you, if you intend to get it right first time (not many do). We need to know the area you live in to give recommendations for dealerships.

I get the feeling that Mandeep is not yet in this country - that makes recommending a dealer exceptionally difficult.

Also his needs are not clear - how many adults will be sleeping in the van - how many children etc .

Also the tow car has to be born in mind.

If the _20,000-_30.000 is for the caravan only - he could certainly buy a new one now - if it's a smaller entry level one

BUT if this includes the tow car - then he has a problem
