The panic which is sweeping the country over the suposed shortage of fuel is pathetic .There is no shortage of fuel ,itsno longer in the garage tanks ,its in the hoarders cars

I give you 3 examples My neighbour [retired man uses his car once a day to drive 300 yards to the shop.He filled it up on Monday along with 3 petrol cans .The local Garage owner was telling me in the pub tonight that he has imposed a £20 limit on each visit .A guy in a large BMW pulls up and puts £52 of petrol in ,when chalenged he just said [oh i didnt see the sign] A lady driver filled up in the morning and returned later to top up with 58ps worth . Withthis sort of lunacy about ,its no wonder we have a shortage . My simpathy is with the people who rely on their cars to get to work .Sorry about the rant

I don't know what the problem is with a lot of people in this country. This need to panic buy is outrageous.....why? The next thing we will see is people panic buying bread and milk in the supermarket for fear of "not being able to get any if we can't get out". MADNESS.

Certainly agree with using whatever fuel is cheaper - God bless LPG!.

I used to see lorries with extra underslung tanks parked up dishing out fuel to others having bought it over from France. Not seen no of course as prices are about equal.

I just think that paying exorbitant fuel tax then VAT on the whole lot is taking the Michael.

Steve in Leo is correct as a population we all moan a lot but do nothing. How different the French are. If they do not like anything they hold the country to ransom! Not saying I agree with their actions in all cases but paying tax on a tax when the raw material costs about 30p and the combined tax over 60p is hardly equitable.

My main "beef" is the percentage tax on income this then represents. A person earning
