I was at my daughter’s house yesterday as the boiler wouldn’t stay lit, which is not good at this time of the year. The diagnosis was that it requires a new igniter control unit. I got talking to the BG technician and mentioned that on arrival he’d driven past the house only to return and didn’t put his van on the drive. He explained that it was an electric van and that by parking it facing the sun it warmed the cab and saved amps. I them asked him how long it took to charge at the nearby Lidls. But he said he rarely has to charge it when out but plugs it in at home overnight. His area goes as far as Lambourn to the east and the eastern fringes of Bath. The BG van that charges at Lidls belongs to a technician that has no drive parking and cannot charge his van at home. Hopefully he has obtained the ignitor unit which is down to be fitted later today. Otherwise our electric heaters various will be required.
