The prop that holds the gas locker door open appears to have been made from an old wire coat hanger. The van cost
we use our curtains a lot ,while the caravans on our driveway the curtains are drawn to stop UV rays from discolouring the furniture ,and to stop potential thieves from peering in ,also it saves the springs on the blinds from loosing there tensionCurtains! Who uses the curtains in their caravan? Ok, some caravans don't come equipped with blinds and in that case curtains can save your blushes, but why fit them when they do? In the last three caravans we have had, we never drew the curtains. For all I know they didn't fit anyway, they would just hang there, gathering dust, looking twee. Having said that we use them now, but there again, we don't have blinds.
Exactly right, Steve. If you moan about your van design/layout/equipment after you have bought it, what attracted you to it in the first place?People from the next van who popped in for a cuppa and do nothing but moan about the items they payed for when they got there van.
I selected mine with a bit of care and honestly, I would not change a thing!
OOPS for keypad repacement read keyfob !!!In our Oklahoma it had to be the alarm keypad that was fitted at floor level.
That combined with an internal switch for the outside light so that you had to open the door first to switch on the light to see where to put the key in the door to switch the alarm off at below eye level.
This has been remedied by changing the alarm for a key pad operated one that puts the outside light on automatically for just long enough to open the door.
As for the microwave we wouldn't be without it for heating soup, pies, baked potatoes, curry, rice and re-warming drinks to mention just a few.
In fact the position of the microwave in the Oklahoma was a big factor in the choice of van.
As for those near the ceiling---potentially hazardous and definitely naff.
Note: We didnt buy our's new, its a 98 model, in tip top condition, we paid 7, but even the Bailey's that started at 10, it just struck me how little choice the buyer has over the soft furnishings...Lol! Ditto to the cocktail cabinet, our sjust looks so naff! it has these clips for "glasses" and the cupboard in backed in "glamourous" green felt... not only that but you need to be a bit of a contortionist to get the bottle into the slot without smacking it on the door...
But my Naff award HAS to go to... the Upholstery!!! WHO on earth decides this? Im currently reupholstering our van, the mass of pink draylon makes me weep at times. You would think that, if you are going to pay 10 grand upwards for a new van, you would not be limited to maybe 2 fabric options per manufacturer... you should be able to buy your van, and choose from a big book of swatches, the fabric you want... I mean, you wouldnt buy a sofa if they made you have it in either Mature Cheddar Yellow or Dank Canal Brown now would you? heh heh!
