We have Senator Indiana and agree about the siting of the alarm control panel. It's about a foot off floor level while light control panel is at head height. Not terribly convenient, I've tried at times to operate the interior light switch on master panel so that I could see to cancel alarm and in the dark found myself switching water pump on or off.

Couldn't agree more about Scotch Lads comments on draughty caravan ventilation. It's only tolerable in warm weather and we don't caravan in winter for the same reason.

We wouldn't attempt to block the holes, because we burn gas for heating and cooking.

hi

the naffest thing in our van as to be the silly little gap on the main door they call a magazine holder.. its about an inch wide and if a magazine goes in it rips your hands off trying to retrieve it. unless you have hands like a 5 yr old.. surely it could be made wider or just done away with completely

Here's a radical suggestion....why not leave on the awning light? Or even an inside light? I must say, I have never found it a problem in our Oklahoma.

For all those unable to locate that elusive light switch, we bought a rechargeable lamp that had a small remote. The remote is small enough for pocket or bag and the light more than adequate.

I have a twin head lamp but then that would make me the naffest looking caravanner rather than the naffest thing on a caravan which is what the topic is about !!

The external BBQ connection point on my van is at the front nearside - quite useless once the awning is up, unless you like barbe

The Grill & Pan.

Someone has mentioned their handle keeps on falling off but what about performance ? Mine have always been pathetic. You get more heat by sitting the grill on top of something to get it nearer to the flame, but by and large I think I can make a piece of toast quicker using a cigarette lighter !

You would think they'd have learned!! but NO! we took delevery of a brand spaking new Bailey Pageant Burgundy series 6, and Dave and the eldest lad came back from the storage site this afternoon after putting in the gas bottles and such...

Turns out the cup holders in the cupboard are too small for a standard sized buy them anywhere mug! My heart sinks at the thought of the garish melamine plastic sets my local 'van shop sells...

Plastic cups! The taste of my Twinnings tea will be ruined! for shame!!! what is wrong with a standard sized mug rack for standard sized mugs??

Hi Claire

We have bought the Pagent series 6 Bailey Burgundy in December 3 Ikea mugs plugs 2 Ikea half pint looking glasses fit into each of the metal racks, we means we carried 6 mugs and 4 glasses no problem on our last outing.

Non of these came out of there holdings and we did not have to drink tea/coffee/orange juice out of any plastic/melamine cup.

We found this holder a lot more secure than our last van and holds a lot more in a confined space.

Not sure how large a mug you have but the one we have from Ikea is large, so are the glasses.

Hope this helps.

Allyson

P.S. Did your husband/children have the mug handles in the correct position?

Curtains! Who uses the curtains in their caravan? Ok, some caravans don't come equipped with blinds and in that case curtains can save your blushes, but why fit them when they do? In the last three caravans we have had, we never drew the curtains. For all I know they didn't fit anyway, they would just hang there, gathering dust, looking twee. Having said that we use them now, but there again, we don't have blinds.
Our curtains are drawn for extra insulation during winter trips. They actually make a difference at minus 15
