This surprised me
A few years ago we went to the Portsmouth CAMC site. It is high up on a promontory overlooking Portsmouth. On arrival, the warden warned, no awnings, and to park to block the wind.Very unlucky for this to happen. The advice we have is that in high winds try to pitch with the front or back facing into the wind as there is less resistance that was and the caravan is more stable that way. If you cannot do this place the tow car between the wind and the caravan to cut down on the wind hitting the caravan.
