towcar fiat doblo

does anyone tow with a fiat doblo? i like the idea of the load space so that i can take my mobility scooter instead of my wheelchair the doblo i would get would be a 120 and i want a light weight caravan such as a lunar arriva or avondale dart 380/2 or anything around 1000 mtplm any help gratefully recieved i worry about how stable a doblo would be also pulling power of just 147lb/ft. cacti

The kerbweight of the 5 seater is around 1415kg, that of the 7 seater about 1505kg and the maximum permissible towload of the 1.9 120PS is 1300kg, so a caravan with an MTPLM of 1000kg should fit in quite well.

towcar-doblo thanks lutz for your quick reply the uk fiat website gives the 120 dynamic a kerb weight of 1340 as does the brochure from local fiat dealer yet what tow car give 1415 as you did i guess i take it to be 1340 giving me 1139@85% should i be looking for more power? thanks john

Kerbweight data is nearly always very conservative so it is fairly safe to use any higher figure that you may come across. (No database is accurate because kerbweight is specific to each and every car, so the only really accurate figure that you will get is either from your V5c registration certificate or, if it's not shown there, by actually weighing the car).

Whether 120PS is adequate for your needs is something only you can decide. I towed a 1300kg caravan with a 90PS Vectra for years and was always able to keep up with the rest of the traffic, albeit with a lot of changing gear.
