towcar

i posted a message yesterday about a towcar for my bailey ranger 500/5 and got some advice what id like to know would a vauxhall omega 2.2 petrol estate be ok to tow my caravan thanks.

What do you mean by 'ok to tow my caravan', Paul? Do you mean in a strictly legal sense? You can find that out yourself by checking the maximum permissble towload of the car in the owner's handbook or the car's VIN plate and comparing that with the maximum weight shown on the plate on the caravan. According to the data that I have available, the Omega 2.2 petrol estate has a 1650kg towload limit and a kerbweight of approximately 1665kg. Both will be well in excess of the MTPLM of a Bailey Ranger 500/5, so you'd be alright in that respect.

Or do you mean whether the car would feel comfortable with towing your caravan? That is really more a matter of personal taste. You ask one owner and you'll get a different answer to the next. All you can do in that case is to hope to get as many responses as possible so that you can make your own judgment.
