towing with santa fe

I tow an Elddis Odyssey 534 witha Hyundai Santa Fe 2.0 TD Auto. After around 15 minutes towing a squealing sound starts, probably on front wheels, and builds up to a loud screech. This lasts for between 20 and 30 minutes when it stops. It also stops each time I brake but starts agin immediately after. My local garage has changed the brake pads but this has made no difference. Has anyone else had a similar problem? and what is the answer?

Sounds suspiciously like "belt squeal" to me, possibly auxillary drive belt/pulley noise. Method of checking is to squirt alittle WD40 onto belt/pulley system when noise is apparent, this should quieten it temporarily. Failing this my next point of enquiry would be one of the drive hubs. If it only happens in motion it would point to the "Drive" mechanism. If it happens at idle the belt option is possibly the better bet. When noise is apparent does it change pitch with increased revs or turning on aircon system.
